At 1ON1 Fitness Retreat, cardio is one of the four essential elements of your training program. It includes activities like walking, jogging, EFX machines, treadmills, spin bikes, and the Aerodyne bike. While we strongly recommend doing your cardio sessions outdoors to enjoy the beauty and serenity of Kodaikanal, we also understand that some students may have specific health concerns, such as injuries, high blood pressure, asthma, or other conditions. For these students, we offer indoor equipment to ensure that you can still enjoy a safe, effective, and scientifically tailored workout in a controlled environment.

Cardio activities are planned every morning, for a duration of 45-75 minutes. Early mornings in Kodaikanal are beautiful—where you can walk your way to fitness while watching the sunrise and listening to the birds sing. Cardio sessions are performed with a heart rate monitor, using which students will maintain their heart rate at a specific level throughout the session. The trainer will prescribe the target rate based on your age, weight, and fitness level to ensure that you don’t overexert yourself or underachieve. The benefit of the session is achieved only if you stick to the prescribed zone. This is crucial for a scientific, smart, and effective approach to fat loss and helps you track your hourly average of calories burned.

Your trainer will join you during the first week, after which you can choose to head outdoors for a walk or jog, or stay in the gym and use your heart rate monitor to achieve your calorie target and maintain progress.
